Your United States senators and representatives can assist your case before any federal agency. You can use this website to determine who your representatives are. For Pennsylvania, the current federal senators are Senator John Fetterman and Senator David McCormick. Your representative in the House of Representatives will vary based on your residence.

Your representative will not be able to approve or denial your case. However, your representative can act as a liaison to the federal agency, check your case status, inquire about delays, or request expedited review for a case outside of normal processing times. Further, your representative can help clarify agency responses and provide information to the agency on your behalf.

Another option, the USCIS Ombudsman, used to be helpful with. While they "continue[] to exist," the current Administration has curtailed the office's utility.

Expect mixed results. Sometimes working with your representative (or the Ombudsman) will fix your problem. Often, however, you will have to use the federal judiciary to resolve your issue. A petition for a writ of mandamus is often the only vehicle for getting the agency to act. The alternative is often waiting for months or years to see any action on your case.
