I'm none too keen on Ryan Gosling, yet I went to see this movie on suggestion of another. I was willing to give it a try. I knew little of it because I like to be kept in the dark about movies. I was aware of space travel and an alien. That's it. I like those things so.

I was blown away by how lacking Gosling's performance was. Sure, he is trying his best or seems to be. But this movie seemed akin to Cast Away. While Gosling could play Wilson, he was and is not up to playing the FedEx troubleshooter.

The alien felt stolen from Star Wars. Just another Grogu or R2-D2. Cute perhaps but not much more. Perfect though for some merch. The entire storyline was boring. I knew I was in trouble once Gosling's character woke up on his way to the distant star only to find the rest of the crew dead.

I made it through the movie without passing out, just barely. Probably a better movie for 7-12 year olds than anyone else.
