USCIS, EOIR, or other agencies may want or need to see your federal tax information as part of the application or petition process. Many people think this means copies of your tax returns. Besides demonstrating that IRS has received your tax return, the tax transcript is usually just a few pages long as opposed to a tax return. Getting your tax transcript will make life easier for you and everyone else who has to review your tax information.
